Uranium Tailings Pile Accident at Homestake Mine

At the request of those in the neighborhood, the state sent someone to check readings after a small breach in one of Homestake Mine's nearby uranium tailings pile. The vicinity was flooded due to heavy rains, but no one knows if any contaminated material made it into the flash flood that plowed through the area on Sunday.
