ICe Accident on I 40

120807 Brian Leddy.New Mexico State Highway Department worker Leslie Frank spreads sand and salt on Interstate 40 on Saturday evening at about the 51st mile marker. between Thoreau and Continental Divide. A storm that came through the region coated the road with a sheet of ice that sent many vehicles into the ditches. Several minor accidents in both the east and west bound lanes backed up traffic for miles in both directions.
