Dawn til Dusk 12 Hour Endurance Race
Add to Cart Add to Lightbox DownloadRiders in the Dawn til Dusk 12 Hour Mountain Bike Race make their way up a set of switchbacks on the Third Mesa trail in Gallup, New Mexico on Saturday, April 12. The race, which organizers say has a great grassroots hometown feel, is in its fourth year running and pulls in about 300 races from as far away as Canada. Great weather made the smooth-rolling singletrack course a blast, and helped reinforce Gallup?s reputation as a noteworthy mountain biking destination. Many who take part in the summer endurance races in the southwest consider Dawn til Dusk to be the unofficial season opener. With ski season just ending, and spring starting to blossom, the course is a perfect start to some of the season?s big races. One of the coolest things about the race is the beautiful Native American pottery, shalicos and Kachina dolls that takes the place of traditional trophies and plaques. .
