060207 Brian Leddy.Mark Spencer with the Gallup Police Department arrests XXXXXX after he was involved in a car accident that hit a telephone pole near 328 E. Wilson. XXXX, the driver of the car, lost control of the vehicle after taking a curve at a high rate of speed, hitting the telephone pole on the south side of the road. Christine Kravetz, a neighbor and one of the first on the scene of the accident, said the she smelled alcohol on the suspects and saw a number of empty beer cans inside the vehicle. Kravetz and other neighbors in the area have contacted police twice about getting a speed bump installed on the roadway to get drivers to slow down. "With all the kids in the neighborhood, we've been saying we need to do something," Kravetz said.
